City of Frisco - Bikes and Scooters
As the City of Frisco continues to grow, one question on the mind of city officials is how to help citizens get from point A to point B safely, efficiently, and cheaply.
At the time this project was initiated, many larger cities had adopted micromobility solutions, such as the bikes or scooters that bird, lyme, or uber provided and allowed users to rent from their phone. We were tasked by the City of Frisco to research these devices, and determine their potential use in our city.
Process
Define
City officials wanted to investigate whether or not rentable micromobility transportation options would be feasible for the City of Frisco to implement.

Analyze
A majority of the data in this project was gathered by analyzing the way that other cities have implemented micromobility into their streets. Additionally, the size, density, and infrastructure of these cities were looked at and compared to Frisco.
Create
After proper data was gathered and compiled, a report was able to be generated detailing the potential for implementing micromobility into the city, as well as the profitability of such an implementation.

Outcomes

Report on the roles of micromobility in other cities of similar size
Our first deliverable for this project was a report that was compiled in order to efficiently convey the current status of bike and scooter micromobility solutions in cities of similar size, or even smaller, than Frisco.
List of pre-requisites to adoption of micromobility
Presented details of several common infrastructures and policies that other cities had in place that Frisco could install before introducing micromobility solutions.

Model Financial Impacts of Micromobility
Utilizing information both found online and shared with us by several cities, I was able to create a financial model to demonstrate the financial impacts, both positive and negative, that Frisco might experience while implementing micromobility.
Presentation to City Staff and Chamber of Commerce
The project team was given the opportunity to present the findings of this project to several high-ranking city officials and staff of the chamber of commerce.
